The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) is the largest astronomical organization in Canada with about 4,000 members across the country and abroad. One of its flagship publications is The Journal (JRASC), which is publsihed bimonthly.
The December 2012 issue was published with a 32-page Supplement on the Environmental Impact of Light Pollution and its Abatement. This publication contains eight articles on the following topics:
Scotobiology, Light and Dark and Human Health, Lighting in the Roadway Environment, LEDs in Outdoor Lighting, International Dark-sky Efforts, Mont-Megantic First IDSP, and Dark-Sky Parks. The Supplement is free here (PDF - 7.3-Meg) for anyone to download. |
